A group known as the North-East Youths Discussion Circle has commended the Board and Management of North-East Development Commission (NEDC) providing succor to all victims of recent devastating flooding that ravaged communities in Maiduguri, Borno State capital as well as several other communities across the Six Northeastern states.
The commendation was made by President of North East Youth Discussion Circle, Prince Mohammed Sani alongside his Executives Council members across the Six states of North Eastern Nigeria at a press briefing held in Bauchi on Thursday, 10 October 2024.
He stressed that by promptly coming to the rescue of the victimd of the disaster through providing relief items, the Commission has demonstrated that it is indeed an agency of hope to the people of the subregion.
He further appreciated the efforts of the NEDC under the leadership of the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mohammed G Alkali for the commitment and dedication towards revamping and devastated North East subregion.
According to him, the flood that swept across Maiduguri, Borno state and other states of the subregion has rendered millions of people homesless just as they lost farmlands and other valuable properties.
Sani Mohammed stressed that, “The Commission under the leadership of Goni Alkali has shown examplary leadership of Humanitarian services to the people and we are very much glad with the assistance the Commission is rendering to the Youths and the lessprivileged in the society.”
He stressed that,”Mohammed G Alkali is indeed a leader and a mentor. On behalf of the entire North East Youths, we say thank you to the Commission.”
“We there call on the entire youths of the North East subregion to support the Commission and also be good Ambassadors of the Commission anywhere they found themselves,” he added.
He also stated that the Commission has done extremely well in the areas of Youths employment, promotion of Agriculture, quality Healthcare delivery services, education and general development of the subregion.
The Youths President added that the Commission has shown commitment to good living by given millions of people of the Six States of the North-East subregion parliatives at this material time and must be is highly commended.
He concluded stressing that, “The North East Youths Discussion Circle under my watch will continue to be partners in progress and success of the North East Development Commission.
