Bauchi Governor assures of his administration’s commitment to security of all
Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has declared that his administration is committed to providing security for all residents of the state wherever they are and irrespective of ethno-religious and political differences.
The Governor assured the citizens that it is the constitutional provision for his administration to ensure safety of lives and properties of all innocent citizens.
The Governor pledged the commitment of the government to providing adequate security for all the residents while simultaneously seeking renewed commitment from security agencies to that effect.
Bala Mohammed, enjoined members of the public to support security agents in thar directives because according to him, security is everybody’s business.
The Governor in particular, called on the Nigeria Police Force, vigilantes groups, the Leaders of the Hunters Group of Nigeria and other security agencies to consolidate on the gains recorded in the fight against crimes, criminalities, banditry, and other forms of insecurity across the state.
He was speaking during the handing-over of some ammunition, guns, and other criminal items handed over to the Governor by the leadership of the Nigerian Hunters Group Bauchi State, Alh. Umaru Shayi.
The Governor thereafter handed over the weapons to the State Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Mohammed. The weapon were seized across the Alkaleri and Tafawa Balewa axis.
Bala Mohammed acknowledged the sacrifices of the Vigilantes, Police personnel, and other relevant security agencies operating in the state to ensure the safety and security of the state and its residents.
He called for the sustenance of these efforts in order to flush out criminal elements operating across the state.
The Governor informed the heads of the security agencies that areas mostly affected by the activities of suspected bandits and kidnappers are all the local government areas and neighboring states in the North-Western part of the country.
To facilitate effective security operations across the state, Bala Mohammed mentioned that a Ministry of Internal Security has been created to provide all the needed support in the area.
The Governor assured the security agencies that his administration would continue to support the security agencies in the state in combating criminal activities in the state.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Mohammed, speaking earlier, thanked the Governor for his numerous efforts and support.
He also commended the hunters group and other notable security agencies, as well as the traditional rulers, for their respective collaboration towards ensuring that the Bauchi citizens enjoy peace.
He called for further collaboration across the security agencies as well as the government of the day.
In his remarks, Alh. Umaru Shayi, assured the Governor and the entire people of Bauchi State that his men will continue to collaborate with other security agencies to combat criminal activities in the state.
He appreciated the Governor’s support in ensuring that they carry out their activities accordingly.
