President Buhari has again underscored the policy of his administration to develop all parts of the country without discrimination.
The President made the clarification in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, at an iftar (breaking of fast) he hosted for religious and traditional leaders from across the six geopolitical zones of the country.
He expressed the hope that the special occasion of Ramadan would deepen the spirit of harmony in Nigeria and inspire citizens to work hard for the country and care for the needy.
The President expressed his appreciation to his guests, whom he said had the unity of the country so deep-rooted in the mind of every one of them.
The Emirs of Kano and Bichi in Kano State, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero and Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero, who spoke after the event, stressed that only a united country could engender peace and progress.
The religious leaders in attendance were the Chief Imam of Aso Rock Villa, Mallam Abubakar Sulaiman, Alhaji Ibrahim Kasuwar Magani, and Sheikh Al-Kanawi Alhassan Ahmed.
Others were Professor Shehu Galadanchi, Dr. Bashir Aliyu Umar, Mallam Muhammad Kamaluddeen Lemu, and Ustaz Nuruddeen Asunogie.
The rest were Alhaji Abdulrasheed Adiatu, Sheikh Haroun Ogbonnia, and Shaikh Bala Lau.
The President also met the Otaru of Auchi, Dr. Aliru Momoh, Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage, Emir of Bauchi, Rilwan Adamu Sulaiman, Akadiri Momoh, Abdulfatah Chimaeze, Fatima Emetumah, and Alhaji Isa Sanusi Bayero.
Prayers were offered for peace in the country, the successful end of the term of the President and for the success of the incoming administration.
